Happy Spring!

Helllllooo trail riders! Spring can come at any time now here in northern Illinois!  With still over a foot of snow on the ground and another 1-3" forcasted for tonight, its hard to think about riding and camping... or should I say, it just seems like a dream!


Check out the complete list of events over on our Facebook page, but DEFINITELY plan on coming out to the 2-day and 4-day rides!

Spring is just around the corner!

Hello again!  It's been a long time since I've updated anything.  I've got our 3 events posted on this home page ,but click HERE for a complete list of NISWTRA rides to check out our other saddle clubs and their scheduled rides!  Can't wait to see all of our "long lost" summertime friends!!!

2 - Day Ride Coming Up This Weekend!!!!!

Hey Friends! I just wanted to let everyone who is planning on attending our 2 Day Ride this weekend and traveling to Scales Mound via Stagecoach Trail or Elizabeth/Scales Mound Road that the area will be CLOSED Saturday from 9am-12pm due to the Galena Triathalon. If you're coming to camp Friday night, you'll be A-OK, but plan an alternate route for Saturday morning!

I hope to see many new and old faces, so hopefully the rain will hold off as long as possible!

Getting Excited!

So, yesterday's meeting went well.  It got me really excited to get this year's trail riding started!
I also can't wait to see everybody for the Spring Dance. We decided on doing a silent auction and let me tell you... We're gonna have some pretty good loot!  Can't wait to see what these talented ladies pull together!

We also talked about the 2 - Day Ride and I can't wait for it!  The riding is amazing in Jo Daviess county, especially around the Scales Mound area, and I'm so excited!

I'm thinking lots of people are getting spring fever and can't wait to get back out there... Especially after the "Blizzard of 2011"!!!

A Work in Progress

I thought we'd give another network a try since the Facebook and Trail Riders of Illinois sites have been doing so well.  We're trying to outstretch our hands and reach other people who share our interest in horses, nature, trail riding, and fellowship!

Please, PLEASE suggest our pages to your horse friends, whether they show, trail ride, or just own horses.

Trail riding is a past-time that has seen better days and it seems very few people still show interest. It's up to US to keep it going for ourselves and the next generations. 

Check back regularly to hear unwarranted opinions and viewpoints on what's going on in the trail riding world as I see it!
